Olive Pants pdf Sewing Pattern

The Olive Pants are a vintage inspired pleated trouser designed with aesthetic and utility in mind! This pattern features double forward pleats, a zipper fly, straight leg, and two pocket options.

V1 - in-seam pockets. These are sleek and hidden. Perfect for slacks or suit pants, they maintain smooth and uninterrupted line over the hips.

V2 - slash pockets. These the easiest to use and make for quick access to whatever you like to carry with you! They also add interest as an added visual element to the pants. These are great for both dress pants and more utilitarian or casual trousers.

Sewing Level:

Advanced Beginner/Intermediate. This pattern is a great skill builder for anyone looking to try "hard" pants for the first time!

Sizing:

body measurements 

Waist - 23"-61" (58cm-155cm)

Full hip - 33"-71" (84cm-180cm)

This pattern was designed for a "curvy" fit model with a 10" difference between waist and hip and thick thighs. You don't have to have this body type to use this pattern but it may require more fitting or grading between sizes if you have a much smaller or larger difference between waist and hip than this pattern was drafted for.

Model details

Ora in the grey suiting V1 and rust corduroy V2 is wearing size B with rise shortened 1.5" and inseam shortened 4". They are 5' tall with 26" waist and 35" hip

Ellie in the grey pinstripe V1 is wearing size G graded to H in the high hip and then back to G with rise lengthen 0.5" at the side via the TDCO fitting method. She is 5'3 with 35.5" waist and 45" hip.

Tracy in purple bubble corduroy V2 is wearing size L graded to size K at the waist with rise lengthened 2" and inseam shortened 3". She is 5'4 with 44" waist and 55" hip.

Materials:

Main fabric - woven non stretch fabric with soft drape. Twill, suiting, corduroy, flannel are good choices

Lining/pocketing - lightweight not stretch fabric with a tight weave

44" fabric 2.75 yards - 4.75 yards (size dependent)

58" fabric 2 yards - 3 yards (size dependent)

- 0.5 yards of lining/pocketing fabric (all sizes)

- 1 jeans zipper, 7" for sizes A-J, 8" for sizes K-T

- 2 skirt hooks and bars or 1 skirt hook and bar + 1 button

- V2 only 16" (40cm) of plain weave (not bias) tape

- Matching thread

This pattern includes Print at home (A4 & US letter), A0, copy shop files, and a comprehensive instruction booklet. Note that the size range is split into 2 sections so you will recive A-J and K-T files in all three formats.
